People nowadays could protect themselves from developing breast cancer by engaging in physical activity, eating healthy and staying away from obesity and alcohol.

Introduction

The second leading cause of death amongst women in the age brackets of 45-60 is Breast Cancer. Women getting diagnosis for Breast Cancer is increasing year by year. If Breast Cancer is detected at an early stage then the disease can be prevented to a large extent. Breast cancer is not found in man to a large extent, however men in the age bracket of 60-70 are found to have breast cancer in them. Malignant Breast Cancer chances of occurrence are more in white women as compared to Asians and Hispanics (Rising Tide, Kft 2009). When we talk about cancer, breast cancer is the number two when it comes to taking lives of people and it is the number one cancer in females of ages 15 to 54.

Risk factors which expose a person to breast cancer such as weight, smoking, consumption of alcohol, anxiety and stress as well as the use of oral contraceptives are all controllable and can safe women from losing their life's. If females prefer healthy lifestyles in the form of eating healthy, reducing their alcohol consumptions, avoiding obesity and increasing physical activities then we can safely infer that that the risk occurrence of breast cancer will be mitigated to a large extent. Women are not fully aware of what causes breast cancer as early breast cancer is less painful. Amongst the early indicators of breast cancer is a painless lump while other symptoms will only be felt once the cancer becomes more advanced.

Breast Cancer Prevention through Reducing Obesity

There exist a variety of healthcare issues that poses a serious threat to the health of the nation. Many of these are preventable to a large extent while others are unavoidable. Obesity is one of the diseases that can be prevented through which major diseases such as breast cancer can be preventable to a large extent. Obesity in the US has increased alarmingly and has even affected New Jersey as well. Obesity occurs because of the excess fat being stored in the body which is highly detrimental to a person's health and well being. Obesity leads to major health problems such as reduced life expectancy and breast cancers.

The diseases that occur as a result of obesity include cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes and certain forms of cancer such as breast cancer. When we talk about breast cancer obesity is one of the main factors that trigger breast cancers in women. Obesity is avoidable if a person indulges in healthy lifestyle by increasing physical activities while controlling the amount of food intake (Matros E et al, 2005).

Obese people are more susceptible to lung cancer, especially after menopause. Breast cancer reoccurs in women who are obese. Research has shown us that if females indulge in exercise for 10 to 15 hours in a week, then they can reduce the risk of breast ...
