Introduction

Buddhism and Christianity are two of the most influential and widespread religious ideologies in the contemporary global environment. Both of these religions have added immensely to the sociological developments throughout the world, and have helped the various societies construct their ethical and moral code of conducts. Every religion present in the current global society has a similarity that it teaches the people regarding the higher truths and the existence of a divine entity. Certain religions attribute their divinity to the concept of singular or plural 'Gods', where as other religions attribute it to the humans themselves. Both of these religions however are dependent on the life experiences of the people, and present the population with a correct way to life the materialistic life (Hanh et Al, 1997). The choices that an individual makes in his daily life are important, and they help him become self aware and enlightened in nature. In Christianity this belief is focused on the will of God and the concept of afterlife contrastingly to the 8 fold path of Buddhism.

Discussion

Christianity and Buddhism are the examples of such religions, which also depend on the concept of divinity, and they both teach the disciples regarding the correct path in the daily lives. Both of these religions are similar in the context that they present the individuals with a detailed guideline regarding their daily life experiences. Buddhism is more involved in the day to day experiences of the human life as compared to Christianity (Saunders, 1925). The Christian belief also provides the details regarding the daily life experiences and the proper conduct of the individual; however the primary focus is on the devotion to the Holy Lord.
