Business Intelligence (Analytic Tools for Decision Making)
Abstract
The following document is a study about the trends analysis of Pizza delivery restaurants for which the data is extracted from business intelligence tools such as Alexa and Google Insight for search. The revealed information provides an extensive outlook of the current positions of the different Pizza companies operating in UK and U.S. However, major emphasis was on the two global leaders naming Pizza hut and Dominos Pizza. The reason behind keeping an emphasis on these two brands was that their global existence was far better than any other Pizza restaurant. In addition to that, both of the restaurants were providing effective delivery services (Bell, 2012, pp. 512).

Frequently BI applications employ data collected from a data warehouse. However, most warehouses are not used for business intelligence and it is not a need for every business organization to use such tools.
In order to differentiate between notions of business intelligence and data warehouses, Business Intelligence in a more literal way can be defined as a set of methodologies, procedures, architectures, and expertise's that transforms raw data into something meaningful and more useful information that can be used to allow more effective, strategic, tactical, and operational forthcomings and decision-making . Moreover, to that Business intelligence includes technologies like data integration, data quality, master data management, text, and content analytics, and similar other techniques of Information Management system. Therefore, data preparation and data usage are referred as two separate and closely linked sections of the business intelligence architectural stack (Boyd, 2003,, 195).
