Introduction

There are some eras in the art history that create confusion and uncertainty, for example 'Modern Artwork Era'. Historians related to art discipline perceived that artistes of earlier periods also considered themselves as being associated to 'modern art'. Rebirth of humanistic approach observed they were bringing revolution in the 15th century. To be precise, modern art denotes artwork that was roughly formed in the year 1867 and 1975. To mention some of the famous movements are: Cubism, Impressionism, Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. For human beings, modern art pieces show change, together with technical, societal, methodical and political transitions. This era is important as it included the surfacing of contemporary governmental rule (Johnson, 2011).

This paper will talk about two famous movements: Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art and two famous artists related to these movements respectively. These two movements are acknowledged as some of the best adverts for a democratic system ever formed. In spite of this, the metaphors, conceptions, and philosophy of both movements oppose each other and at times, even contradictory to one another. The main purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast these ground-breaking movements; taking into consideration famous artists of the movement, metaphors, main beliefs, structure and framework.

Compare and Contrast- Abstract Expressionist with Pop Artist

Abstract Expressionism is motivated by Surrealism and Automatism that integrated two sub-groupings: the action watercolorists and color field watercolorists.
