Company introduction

DMS has been characterized by a significant lack of protection of their data management systems and thus there is a need for the management of DMS to look into this matter. An exploitation related to information systems would leave a gaping hole and thus cannot be covered easily. It goes to show that the information systems and the data management softwares must be characterized by a high degree of protection.

Security Mechnaisms for DMS

There are a number of steps that can be taken by the DMS management to successfully enhance the protection level of information systems. According to RFC 2196 (The Site Security Handbook), a security policy is a formal set of rules that must be followed by users of the resources of an organization.

Protection through the DMS systems from both state employees and users accessing over the Internet

The security policies in the case of DMS must be realistic implementation, and clearly define the areas of responsibility of the users, personnel management systems and networks and the direction. The networking protocols must also adapt to changes in DMS since changes tend to be significant for the different processes. Security policies provide a framework for the implementation of security mechanisms, define appropriate safety procedures, processes, security audit and provide a basis for legal proceedings following attacks.

Transition Process for DMS

DMS as an organization relied extensively on the use of SNA and thus resulted in the efficient performance of networks. SNA in the context of contemporary professional environment had been deemed a failure since it did not have the potential to meet the rising demands of networks. With the rapid advancement in technologies, DMS has now introduced networking systems based on UNIX applications which have significantly augmented the overall efficiency of networks. SNA had been completely abolished and thus presented a huge dilemma with regards to its applications. On the other hand, UNIX applications resulted in an enhanced performance of the networks at DMS which greatly paced up the performance outcomes.
