Introduction

Throughout the United States, millions of people have been affected by the affects of child abuse of young teens as well as children each year. Even though, this issue is concerned to be a common one, there are numerous adults who are still unprepared of how to deal with such a situation. In addition to that, this lack of knowledge leads to the crime being unreported and the victim is stigmatized. it is commonly considered that there are numerous forms of child sexual abuses. However, it is important to note that all these forms include the violation of the rights of the child and an increase in the risk of numerous negative mental as well as physical health conditions (Arreola, S. Another extremely important notion to consider is that the silent atmosphere, along with a poor level of communication around the notion of sexuality provides a major contribution to the sexual abuse of a child. For this purpose, it is considered that certain programs, which focus at these issues, can be able to empower the people in the reporting of the contacts which were unwanted. In addition to that, these programs can also concentrate on preparing the parents of the victim. The young professionals could also be made to recognize the signs that point towards the sexual abuse of a child and accordingly, a valid action could be taken.

Discussion

It has been reported that even though the incidents have occurred highly in the past, sexual abuse of the children have decreased by 50 percent in the United States, since the early years of 1990s. These findings were based on the reports to law enforcement individuals and child protection agencies. However, it is important to note that one to three percent of the youth of the United States experience sexual abuse every year. In addition to that, these are known to be the cases which have been reported (Arreola, S. G., Neilands, T. B., Díaz, R. 2009).

There are numerous cases every year that do not even get reported because of the shame to tell or the fear of facing the society.
