Introduction

Conflicts and controversies have been widespread and largely present in the history of human kind, however, these provide the answers to all the questions regarding the way things are and the manner in which they might be changed in future. Similarly the early history of Church is full of controversies and conflicts of one type or the other; it is eminent to have an understanding of all these issues and conflicts in order to ensure that the students get an exact idea about the issues and problems that prevailed at that time. The major controversies that occurred during that era include the conflict regarding Apollinarius of Laodicea and also the Christological controversy, which dominated a large number of upcoming years. Moreover, during the Roman Empire, there are different types of persecutions Christians suffered, which will also be explained in this paper.

Types of Persecutions Christians Suffered During the Days of The Roman Empire

During the Roman Empire, the emperor of that time attempted to exterminate all the people who have embraced and professed Christian religious faiths. Although, hardly any scholarly work can be found categorizing the persecution in different types, however the oppression early Christians had faced during the Roman Empires, include stoned to death, tortured to change the faith, different lucrative offers, lifetime imprisonment and slaughtered by swords.
