Introduction

Good communication within the company increases the exposure of workers and reduces their resistance to change. Communication is the basis for the essential functions of the organization. Through excellent communication, employees know what is going on in the company, what the planned activities are and who will be responsible for a responsibility. Organizations lacking in effective communication between the employees create severe issues for the management of an organization. People may not properly know their responsibility, which will result in delayed processes and will reduce the efficiency of the organization.

In this paper, we will discuss the case of a company that planned to move into a new office. We will discuss in detail the problems faced by the organization and communication gap faced by the employees and the management (Johansen, 1984).

In every organization and business, we deal with two types of information flow, formal and informal. All communication paths within the organization is the result of overlap between the two sorts of communication. Communication is the responsibility of each employee of the institution. All participate in it from lower to upper management. Effective communication with employees, customers, shareholders, community neighbors and other stakeholders is essential for the company. Relationships with people are set to communicate effectively with them, to achieve the desired results.

There are two types of reactions, which are positive or negative reaction. If the change is positive, the individual needs to have five stages of clarification these are Vision, Communication, Skills, Resources and incentives about the organization, which can have benefits for the organization, in the long term and short term.

With a negative reaction, individual is in denial, anger, depression, testing, and is not accepting the coming change in the organization.

Formally, most of the communication takes place through email today. This information flow includes prompt messages, business information, and reports. In larger firms, a similar role is played by intranet, which is a name given to the network developed for internal use. Most data transfer takes place with the help of intranet. Formal information is most often spread vertically - from top to bottom and from bottom to top. Informal communication comes to the full circle in the level and the workers at the same level. Informal Communication takes place in Cafeteria, Smoking room etc, where most rumors are spread. It is essential that these two circuits of information complement each other (Gibson, & Hodgetts, 1991).

However, if you analyze this case, a notification was sent through an email to the employees, only two days before the shifting of the office. It only informed the employees about the new plans of management and did not have any explanation of how it will be carried out. The management did not have any plan for the shifting process. It only informed the employees to throw away things that were of no use to them and take the remaining things.
