Introduction

A message, may it be an email or a letter or any other form of communication, is said to be effective if the receiver perceives exactly the same meanings which were intended by the sender to be conveyed. For any sort of business communication, for the order of being effective, there should be ten qualities present in it. These ten qualities are known as the ten C's of effective business communication (Krizan, 2007).

The Ten C's for effective communication

Content - an effective speaker thoroughly prepares for an excellent content which is pertinent to their audience or the recipients. People wish to acquire knowledge about different novel things.

Completeness - the communication requires being complete. It must pass on each and every fact that the audience or recipients may require. The person sending the message should consider the mindset of the recipients and should convey the message in accordance with that (Hybels & Weaver, 2007).

Clarity - frequently, less is more; the message must be kept short and simple. This counts amongst the major reasons for the significance of an elevator pitch.

Coherence -a communication is logical if it's coherent. Each and every point is connected and pertinent to the main subject of the communication. Also, the flow as well as the tone of the message has a consistency.

Conciseness - conciseness refers to wordiness, that is, conveying what is wished by the conveyor to be conveyed, in minimum words possible, without neglecting rest of the C's of effective communication.

Connection - in case of nonverbal communication, especially emails or letters, what must be taken into consideration is the fact that the sender and the receiver are often geographically and physically disbursed. Hence, the message conveyed by the sender must be as such that it connects the recipient with them and perceive exactly the same as conveyed by the sender.

Creativity - pictures speak volumes. Displaying a visual, or providing an example, or stating a story, frequently underpins what the sender is trying to communicate. The sender is required to make use of their creativity in conveying their message.

Courtesy - virtually everything in business begins and concludes with courtesy. Courtesy does not only refer to deeming regarding the recipient rather also having their feelings valued. A lot may be acquired by employing empathetic gestures and words, showing respect, and being tactful, thoughtful, and appreciative towards the recipient.
