Introduction

Technological development has brought several changes and innovations, in the way people used to live. It is because of the reason that, technological development has enabled the people to perform their task with ease and convenience. In all the technologies, computer technology is considered as one of the prominent and the most beneficial technologies. Recent researches and studies demonstrate that, large number of organizations and businesses have implemented computer technology within their working environment, in order to bring ease and efficiency in their organizational operations (Bishop, 2005). On the other hand, it is also observed that, the technology of computer has also introduced various risks and vulnerabilities for the integrity of organizations. It is due to the reason that, this technology also incorporates various issues and threats regarding the security of computer systems and networks. These security threats may greatly influence the data and information, stored in the computer systems of organizations. Some of the threats may include denial of service attacks, viruses, worms, Trojan horse, spyware, social engineering and threats due to unprotected wireless networks (Rothke, 2005).

All these issues may affect the integrity of confidential data of the organizations. In order to over come all these issues, it is necessary for the organizations and businesses to introduce and implement effective security techniques and tools, in order to secure the computer networks (Taylor, et.al., 2011). The proceeding paper describes the concept of computer security as well as its importance. In addition to this, the security threats are also discussed in the proceeding paper. This study also describes the security measures that may enable the organizations to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of their information.
