CHAPTER # 4: RESULTS

Introduction

This research study is conducted to examine the processes shared cognition and communication which teams use to coordinate and what the ultimate impact of coordination on team performance. The quantitative research method is used to the research data. The quantitative research method provides statistical evidence for the expected presumption that shared cognition and communication and coordination within teams promoted a high degree of coordination team performance enhanced. This chapter presents the findings of questionnaire survey. The respondent's responses were analyzed by using descriptive statistics technique of frequency analysis. To examine the strength of relationship among the duration of cooperation between team members, shared cognition, communication, coordination and team performance the inferential statistics techniques of chi square, correlation and regression analysis were carried out and presented in this chapter.

Questionnaire Analysis

The questionnaire survey is conducted with the team members of outpatient departments of hospital. The aim of this questionnaire survey is to collect the perception of outpatient departments' team members about the team work and coordination. The section below presents the analysis of questionnaire survey.

The above table presents the findings of “I think that the solution generated by the group was better than one I could have developed personally”, the responses were collected by using five point likert scale. From the above table it can be observed that there were 28 percent of the respondents who strongly agree that they think the solution generated by the group was better than one they could have developed personally. There were 46 percent of the respondents who agree that they think the solution generated by the group was better than one they could have developed personally. In response to the asked statement 21 neutral responses were recorded in the above table. There were only 1 respondent who strongly disagree that they think the solution generated by the group was better than one they could have developed personally.

The above table presents the findings of “I would feel uncomfortable defending the group's decision”, the responses were collected by using five point likert scale. From the above table it can be observed that there were 34 percent of the respondents who strongly agree that they would feel uncomfortable defending the group's decision. There were 45 percent of the respondents who agree that they would feel uncomfortable defending the group's decision. In response to the asked statement 19 neutral responses were recorded in the above ...
