It has been significantly discussed by the author that the concept of morality is very important to be notified in the concept of criminal justice. This is because morality is considered to be a neutral standard. It helps in giving unbiased decisions in the field of criminal justice. Morality is also considered to be very important in the field of criminal justice because it is referred to the set of positive standards that is aimed to give a neutral decision. In addition to this, morality is considered to be a neutral standard of goodness for making effective decisions during the criminal justice cases. It is due to these reasons that an emphasis is laid by Reiman on the consideration of morality in the field of criminal justice.

Utilitarianism is considered to be the most common of consequentialism. Utilitarianism is referred to a theory in normative ethics that states that the proper course of action is one that is aimed towards the maximization of utility (Gerstenfeld, 2005). In simple words, this theory is aimed at reduction of sacrifices and maximization of happiness. The golden rule presented by Jesus Christ, “To do to others as one would have like to done to himself, and to love one's neighbor as oneself” defines the ideal and perfect condition of utilitarian morality. In the concept of utilitarianism, the actual and moral value of an action is determines by the outcome of that actions and the extent of happiness provided to others. It is also observed that Utilitarianism is referred to as the reductionist and quantitative approach to the fulfillment of ethics (Banks, 2013).
