Introduction

Crime is defined as any action or activity that is carried out without respecting both written and customary law. The crime is similar to the offense although the latter is more directly linked to the break with the written laws and the resulting penalty from the type of crime that was committed. As expected, there are different types and different levels of severity of crimes: while some are burglaries or thefts, some can be really blatant attacks against human integrity as sexual abuse, torture and murder (Owens, 2007). This research paper focuses on identifying some of the aspects of crime that involves the study of crime, people involved in crime, the crime and its costs on the people who commit crimes and community reactions towards crime.

The aim of this research paper is to highlight the several aspects related to crime. It will also take into consideration crime and its costs in terms of people suffering from various aspects of crime, and what is the reaction of society towards the occurrence of crime.

The Study of Crime

In the study of crime, several factors are involved, the study of criminology involved sociology, statistics and psychology. There are also many theories involved in the study of crime. Crime is not a spontaneous phenomenon. There are always factors that cause or trigger. The social nature of crime and social conditioning are manifested primarily in the fact that it arises from the specific acts committed by people in the community and against the interests of society, their specific social behavior.
