Introduction

The essay is a reflection of a famous essay written by Scott Russell named 'settling down'. The essay reflects the whole picture of the belonging of the roots, as well as, the deeply cultivated part of human soul that leads to the alignment of the values of human cultural orientation. Moreover, cultural values are defined as “the aspects of the cultural set up of a place that leads to the development of a much stronger and deep-rooted bonding to the culture and customs of a place”. It could be said that the values and traditions of a place could be kept in the very heart of the individual.

The cultural belonging of a place leads to a set of values that leads to the development of the most productive form of personal development, as well as, the orientation of the society towards one single goal. As a result, the formation of values do not merely involve the idea of becoming a developed self, and regarding the cultural teachings, but also, to develop a large and more implied scenario of the cultural oneness.

Studies have great evidences that show that cultural values lead people to a much productive notion of ideas and developments, and therefore, they pull the individuals towards the building of a better society. Individuals that are well-oriented with their roots have a much higher moral cadre; they build the societies, and therefore, lead to the development of a more effective premise of becoming a human. The whole idea corresponds to the development of the picture that does cater to the idea of the self-fulfillment, but rather, orienting the individual to the set of values that belong to the very culture of the area (Selznick, 2008).

Culture has to be depicted through the oneness of the individual with the roots, that is, the belonging of an individual to a certain place adds value to his life, as well as, the way he sees things and people around. It is not one of the few central phenomena that have evolved through the course of time, but the relation between the cultural belonging of an individual to a place, as well as, the orientation of moral and spiritual values has always been direct. The result is the development of the whole picture that caters to the idea of the enhancement of the person, in terms of, the fulfillment of his roles and responsibilities with the pace of the development of the belonging towards the society.

The notion that the sense of rooted spirit with a place creates a feeling of un-acceptance, as well as, disliking and biases towards other cultures; is merely a false idea. People who develop a sense of a deep-rooted belonging to a particular culture are far more open to other cultures, cultural diversity and the way other people live and survive.
