Culture of Black people

Introduction

Around many centuries ago, the Africans were deported to United States of America to work in cotton fields, but they lost some of their roots and got mixed up with Western cultural elements. This factor became a cultural hybrid; it was a difference that has ever been recalled by the color of the skin. However, it was an unequal treatment they suffered because of the racial exclusion and the underlying American society according to the researcher known as Philippe Paraire. America is heterogeneous for historical reasons. It is composed of indigenous Indian immigrant whites and black slaves who were brought by force. This is the reason why the population of the New World sought various means to be a social and political body. According to the Paraire, it retained ultimate racial exclusion as a principle of homogeneity of the white population. Thus, the history of America is the history of exclusion. The massacre of the Indians is a first step in the development of socio-ethnic exclusion. The journey of black Americans is a more advanced stage of the concept. As necessary and economically exploitable, Africans in America have not been destroyed like the Indians. Therefore, all the issues related to culture of black people will be discussed in detail.

Discussion

For blacks, the exclusion mechanism has been refined and continues to be today. According to the researcher Paraire, they went through three successive statutes: First slaves, they were, subsequently released but held until the early seventies of the twentieth century, away from the economic, political and by panoply of cultural segregation laws. Finally, they were confined to "downtowns" policed ??though officially; their rights were equal to those of white Americans. To justify racial exclusion, it was necessary to demonstrate the nature of the human infra black population by various strategies. The three strategies were as follow:

The first strategy was to impose the idea that blacks had no history and they had always been passive about the situation of slavery. In reality, the harsh and collective resistance to the order made innumerable servile victims and showed the determination of Africans to America to refuse the fate that their animal was made and denied and, sword in hand. This was the state inferiority that slavery had defined for them. The resistance took many forms: violent rebellions, conspiracies, robberies, looting, fires, murders and individual escapes.

The second strategy was to obscure the extraordinary contributions of African Americans in the country's wealth during the period of slavery, but also after their emancipation for over a century.

The latter strategy was the use of specific cultural creations of American black people (Darden, 1989, 577).

The ideology of conservative America has managed to impose the idea that black Americans do not have a culture but a confusing array of instincts (music, love of sport, sex and a sense of rhythm. By using this melting pot and the total destruction of African cultural roots among the slaves, the ideology of exclusion ...
