Dealing With Difficult Employees and Bad Behavior

Introduction

Organizations are mostly concerned about the performance or behavior of their employees which is affected because of their bad behavior. Employees show difficult behaviors that may be uncomfortable, annoying and counterproductive to the objectives of the organization. Majority of the times it is not easy for the general manager or human resources department within an organization to have employees with attendance problems, insubordination and abuse of alcohol. In these cases, it is important to properly manage or direct disciplinary measures which are required to have, at all times, the good judgment and common sense (Terry, 2005). The behavior of a difficult employee can range from constant rumors to the inability or refusal to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position. Other behaviors are difficult to abuse co-workers, dishonesty and misuse of company property or products. It is important for supervisors to identify, intervene and halt the actions of employees difficult before more damage is done. Therefore, in this paper we are going to evaluate certain ways to deal with difficult employees and their bad behavior.

Discussion

It is curious to understand why some people are born to be difficult. The truth is that nobody likes to work with difficult people and it has a number of drawbacks: it decreases productivity, the atmosphere thins, the partner's starts to get frustrated, and morale falls on the floor and works down, and also affects the quality. As the owner or manager, we have not only the right but the duty to ensure that our team provides the best performance possible. On this point, employees can be a difficult obstacle and undermine employee's chances of success (Geary, 2005). This paper gives us the opportunity to master to perfection regarding the process of managing difficult employees, including effective methods accountability of individuals coping with their attitudes and performance.

Do Not Ignore the Problem

If the employee provides value to your business then you must deal with. If you do not, you know. When cancer is diagnosed it comes to treatment to remove it as soon as possible. If this treatment is obvious two things can happen: that the disease does not grow or grows even destroy the sick. If something does attack the morale of your employees then you have just discovered a problem so just try to solve it rather than ignoring it. Start by trying to understand the nature of the problem. This means identifying the specific behavior that is unacceptable, determine who comes and how often it occurs. Negative behavior happens to one person is probably evidence of a personality conflict. Instead of being a "challenging behavior", the two people involved should fix it (Wallach, 2010).
