Introduction

Deep River is a short narrative throughout which Shusaku Endo shares the account of a number of Japanese travelers who move to India in an unidentified chase of their pilgrimage of refinement. In the story, four individuals of diverse settings meet at the holy Ganges River in India, on their personal trips to settle themselves with their past accounts (Eric, 1996).
