Does God Exist

Introduction

“Does God exist?” The biggest and the most important fundamental question for humanity and for the individuals who are looking for the answers of for the questions of life such as: who we are, where did we come from, and what is the reason behind our creation, (Swinburne & Richard, Pp. 281-300) what will happen to us after our demise? And many questions like these contribute towards the curiosity and encourage one to seek the answer for the question “Does God exist?”

In order to seek the answer for the question we need to first look at the two possible cases

Does God exist? And if 'yes' then we are most likely accountable to this supreme authority 'God' and there must be a meaning and reason behind our creation.

And if there is no existence of 'God', then we are most likely to be here by chance and we don't have any liability or accountability towards any transcendent being.

We will further look into three distinct arguments which are as follows

Cosmological Argument

Teleological Argument

Ontological Argument

Cosmological Argument

The term 'cosmological' is derived from the Greek word 'kosmos' which denote 'world'. It is amongst the few philosophical arguments which attempt to provide the evidence of for the presence of God which is caught up in modern scientific theories and thoughts. (Beck & David, Pp. 18-50) It states that: the world and the humanity could not exist on its own and there must be a rationale behind it and the first cause that brought it in to existence is “God”. (Swinburne & Richard, Pp. 281-300)The criticism on the cosmological argument is as follows

'Matter' is eternal and it doesn't involve any first cause.

For instance if it's true that something or someone has caused the universe to exist, but still that doesn't prove the existence of the Christian God.
