Estimating VO2max using squatting exercise, heart rate, age and body composition

Statistical Methods

The statistical scores for VO2 max and Squats test were using different methods. The method through which the VO2 max obtained was electromagnetically braked cycle ergometer. Initially the basic properties of all the variables were computed through descriptive statistics. For further comprehensive analysis, a correlation matrix was developed between the variables VO2 max. (P0, P1 and P2) which was calculated from a combination of different variables i.e. age, BMI, body fat and squats test. The resulting correlation matrix obtained from VO2max and P1, P2 found to be statistically significant at .01 levels as P<0.01 but simultaneously no considerable correlation between VO2 max and the independent variables (P0, age, BMI and body fat) was found. The reason for the insignificance of these results is the p > 0.05 and also the magnitude of the correlation between these variables is significantly low.

The reason of these statistical results to arrive may be due to the following facts:

BMI: The results for BMI does not found to have statistical significance at even .1 level and the Beta related to it is found to be 0.093 and that is why the contribution which explains the variance contribution of VO2 max prediction is almost close to zero i.e. it explains nothing about the variation in BMI. Further, BMI is significantly lower and narrower and the mean is found to be 24 which clearly show that the range is fairly small.

BF: The mean is found to significantly low M = 14 and its relation is fairly similar to the BMI and age of the respondents i.e. almost no correlation and therefore does not contribution in the equation.

HRR: It likewise does not help in expectation analysis, which is not astonishing getting over the resting HR exceptionally challenging, therefore it depend generally on the unwinding, and we suppose the commitment it will be exceptional when you have jocks, and our generally subjects are not dynamic, resting HR does not help a great deal for forecast, in light of the fact that we have really the framework work all in all autonomous in the reach of completely unfit individuals and the autonomic drive in the resting state does not say anything about the cardiovascular fitness or competence.

HR Recovery: The results obtained from the HR recovery in determining the VO2 max determination found to be significantly good.

HRM: Similar results are obtained from in HRM as it is found to be statistically significant with a higher correlation and therefore can be used for the prediction.

Statistical results from other variables seems to be disappointing that other variable does not found significant enough to be included in the prediction equation, but these insignificant results may be due to the problem that the range for ages is fairly narrow and certainly the body composition is narrow as well i.e. we don't have the diversity which in determining the BMI, it is not problem, ...
