Evaluate national strategy for physical protection of critical infrastructure and key assets

Introduction

In the year 2007, the U.S. Congress is another recommendation of the following 11 September 2001 establishing the Commission (9/11-Commission) proposed a strategy to protect the critical infrastructure and key assets all around the United States (DHS, 2012), and the impact of this strategy was seen all over the U.S. because companies and the citizens started investing money in the security to avoid and terrorist activity in the future such like that of 9/11 because during the 9/11 attacks, the world witnesses that U.S. security agencies were not prepared for any such type of attacks (United States, 2003).

Discussion

In the remainder of President Bush signed this legislation on 3 August 2007. However, it is not yet in sight, what actions and guide-lines, the U.S. American administration will take to implement and to what extent already preparations were made, especially in view of the fact that a safety inspection will take several years to become binding (U.S. & Bush, 2003).

After the attacks of 9/11 in United States, it leaves a deep impact on the security issues and also threats regarding the terrorist attacks. Therefore, for this purpose, the Department for Homeland Security took an initiative by the name of protecting the critical infrastructure and key assets for the further strikes of terrorists. In this initiative, all the sectors of the society were involved, whether it a private sector, federal sector or the citizens. The Homeland department make sure that every citizen of the U.S. should play its role in protecting the country from the terrorists (Jones, et. al., 2006). To address the threats made the by security department had a huge impact on the citizens and they started investing their money in protecting their infrastructures. Similarly, state departments and the other municipal agencies throughout the country started pointing out the key assets and services within their jurisdiction. Federal agencies and the departments gave a special focus on the on the industry who used to maintain high stocks for their production for the future perspective actions, so that in case of emergency security departments can take a rapid action and can reduce the damage.
