CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGY

In this chapter of the dissertation the methodology used in order to conduct this research study are discussed. Within this chapter the cores aspects which will be discussed include the research design, data collection, and sampling design. This section of the dissertation is crucial since it provides a detailed account and justification behind the selected research design. The methodology applied to conduct any study is the most crucial aspect of any research study hence it chapter holds great importance for this study.

Research Methodology

According to Rajasekar et al. (2006, p.3) research methodology can be defined as the systematic approach a researcher takes in order to identify a potential solution for an existing problem. It can also be called the study of methods. In order to devise an appropriate solution for any issue it is crucial to ensure that a proper research methodology is selected and used. Using an appropriate research methodology ensures that the research conducted is tabulated in a proper manner which can benefit the reader and facilitate them in understanding the core gist of the study. Selecting the right research methodology is a very important aspect of conducting research since the methodology can make or break the study being conducted, for this purpose the researcher concentrated over the aims of this study and planned the research methodology accordingly.

Qualitative Research

Quantitative research is the type of data collection that follows the idea or the theory laid in the theory or the literature viewed in the previous sections but on the other hand, its implication depends on the testing of this theory, through particular participants or the focus group (Bryman & Bell, 2011, pp. 76). This is followed under the category of the positivist approach in order to develop the foundation of the research approach and strategy. The quantitative data collection ifs followed by the by the statistical approach.

Qualitative method can be defined as the theory or the literature content gathered for the study. Through a qualitative research method, Saunders, Lewis, and Thornhill (2009, p.23) defined focus group as a specific type of group with specific purpose to listen and gather information. As cited by Mason (2002, p.65), qualitative interviewing further allows for social argument to construct depth, nuance, complexity and roundness in data. Primary and secondary qualitative research methods were applied for this study. Primary qualitative was used during the interviews which were conducted. Secondary qualitative was used through the literature which was used for this study including the case studies and the literature used otherwise. Both methods were necessary in order to create a more reliable research study and in order to provide the reader with diverse and broad information. The secondary qualitative information has been obtained through research studies and books. The works of other researchers have been added in this study in order to point out various perspectives to the issue under study. Including secondary qualitative information was a choice made on the fact that ...
