Executive Summary

This paper tends to put emphasis on the importance of client-designer relationship. Thus, a designer, it is essential to always be aware of the views, comments, suggestions or complaints from our customers and, on the other hand, we should always try to decipher or collect information about them, such as their needs, preferences, habits, etc. Through this information the designers can design more effective marketing strategies. In some research, it has been observed that some good designer's fails in articulating and conversing with the client, in order to create more interest and trust of the client, while for others, it is necessary to make the entire process as easy and enjoyable as possible especially for the client. With the emergence of awareness, there had been tremendous changes occurred between the relationship of designer and client, thus, as the designer takes on more consultative rather than a prescriptive approach. It is important for the designer in order to understand the needs and requirement of the client, style, personality in commercial situation, for appreciating the wider economic context for these aspects. It is a fact that an experience designer may develop a deeper understanding of the empathy for the needs of their clients and the challenges and constraints they might face. However it is also critical that the project teams invest mostly in the user research in order to uncover the interaction and needs pattern, it is equally significant that the designer reach out towards the project stakeholders early in the partnership and also to establish a stronger relationship for mutual trust and respect.

Introduction

Design is a field in which an enormous amount of influence when variables do work: the client's personal tastes, the communicative objectives, budget, development time, a proper choice of priorities etc. However, one of the most critical factors in the development of any communication project is the proper relationship between the client and the designer. If the client does not know how to express what you need, or the designer cannot interpret the needs of his client, the final work will hardly ever successful (Waxman & Clemons, pp 45-67).

Given the intangible nature of the work purely designer, you have to be extremely delicious when managing customer relationships / designer. Do not forget that the designer must translate into physical media (web, paper, DVD etc.) And the most appropriate way possible, all the communication needs of the customer.
