There are 20 independent variables in a 4 x 6 factorial design because there were 24 conditions (cells) shall be made out of which 4 shall be dependent variables.

The difference between the columns means (A) i.e. factor A and row means (B) i.e. factor B are the simple main affects whereas the cell (condition) mean will analyze the interaction affects of the column and row factors.
