Introduction

Stress is one of the most widely studied emotional behaviour in psychology. Some authors consider that stress is always a psychopathological state of the individual, others simply conceived in terms of impulse or activation, and still others believe that stress is a personality trait. The truth is that stress is a reaction that occurs to certain stimuli, which may or may not be aversive and that usually works in an adaptive way. Therefore, stress is not necessarily a negative phenomenon, however it is often a normal process of our body. For example, the subject responds to the horn of a car, with a stress response (acceleration of heart rate, respiratory agitation, etc), But in this case, the answer is not necessarily maladaptive or pathological. In a situation like this might alarm, in which the subject has to respond immediately, they activate a series of systems in our body that cause among other things, increases in blood adrenaline, increased secretion of sweat glands sweat, increased heart rate (number of beats per minute), and cardiac output (volume of the ventricles eject blood with each beat), etc.. Thus reaches the tissues more blood as a result of which the subject is active and the body is better able to respond quickly and efficiently.

However, stress does not always act in a way adaptive. When these measures remain high for very long times, or when such increases occur with some frequency, then I can show the risk of developing certain psychosomatic illnesses. But stress can be harmful to people, not only for its intensity, or frequency, but also by their absence or decrease, since a certain degree of activation is essential to keep our body on alert. This type of stress is sometimes presented as a reduction in the physical and intellectual fatigue, etc. and generally defined as "being tired of doing nothing." This happens when working too routine or automatic, or a holiday too quiet if the pace of life that was very busy. This state of under stimulation eventually also becomes a real state of stress which entails the risk of psychological or psychosomatic.

The body is always in a state of minimal stress that, in certain situations, increases may produce beneficial or negative, depending on whether the body's reaction is enough to cover a particular claim or it "exceeds" the person. This level of balance will depend on individual factors (biological and psychological disposition) of the different situations and experiences. A degree of stress stimulates the body and allows it to reach its goal, returning to "normal" when the stimulus is removed. For example, when an athlete tries to get a good result in a competition, is subjected to a stress of increased muscle activity (more irrigation, the heart beats faster, etc..) Which will help you achieve success and achieve its goal? Following completion of athletics, there is a constant decline in the body returns to baseline.

When pressure is maintained and enters the state of resistance, people start to feel a sense of discomfort (muscle tension, palpitations, ...
