Microsoft provides services and software that helps people to communicate, be entertained in doing their work along with managing their personal lives. Over the past thirty years, the technological innovation has been transformed for accessing and sharing information, along with changing the way of institutions and businesses operations. Microsoft has made this world smaller by accessing people and resources everywhere. It was founded in the year 1975 and remained as a leader in the wave of the innovation due to which there are a number of opportunities, convenience and values over the past three decades are created (Larman, 2003).

Microsoft is multinational computer technology cooperation. It was founded in the year 1975 and headquartered in Redmond Washington. The history of Microsoft had started in the year 1975 on April 4th, when it was founded by Paul Allen and Bill Gates in Albuquerque. It was formed with an important partnership with IBM due to which Microsoft was allowed to bundle operating systems of Microsoft with the computer that have been sold by them along with the royalty of every sale of Microsoft. In the year 1985, Microsoft was requested by IBM, to write a new operating system, along with that they continued to sell their own alternatives which has proved as direct competition with the OS/2. OS/2 sales were overshadowed by Microsoft where sales are concerned. There were many other versions were launched by Microsoft, which had captured nearly ninety percent of the market share of the personal computers globally in 1990's.

The company has become mostly successful. In the year 2008, the global annual revenues of Microsoft were nearly $60.42 billion and nearly ninety thousand employees in one hundred and five countries. It manufactures, develops, licenses and also supports an extensive range of products of software for computing devices. It also develops licenses and also supports the products of software and its services for several devices of computer worldwide (Fisher, 2000).

Microsoft is the market leader and it has continued emphasizing on the technological innovation. There is almost ninety percent market share globally. Microsoft it utilizing business intelligence scalable application that allows its employees with the similar interface. It includes reports, dashboards, analytical applications, analysis, reports, online analytical processing, and data, mining, data warehousing and transformation and loading. This business intelligence gives it solutions for multi decision making levels that includes analysis and reporting, warehousing of data and performance management.
