Research Proposal: Flash Memory versus Magnetic Memory

Introduction

We are living in a society which has become a global place because of technology. Technology can be defined as process of making tools and machines that are created in order to get some value. In general context, technology can be used to solve real world problems making life easy for humans. Technology has also helped many under developed economies and has made things easy for them. Technology has become so advanced, that we have become dependent on it. Technology has made multi tasking very, as we can perform different functions by using a single device. It has not only made our lives easy but has made the world a global community. We can connect with anyone all around the world.

Technology may include mobile devices, laptops, computer chips, memory chips, engines etc, that are transforming our lives and has becomes one of the driving forces of the future. In computer technology, the most prominent development is of memory chips whether it's a flash memory or a magnetic memory. Without these memory chips, the computer will not be able to perform operations. These chips are commonly used to store data and relevant information. The most common type of memory being used is the flash memory and the magnetic memory

(John, 2010).Flash memory is a non volatile memory in which data can be stored, erased and reprogrammed. Flash memory is mostly used to store BIOS settings in computer RAM. Initially flash memory was used inside the central processing unit, but now many flash memory cards are used for digital cameras and digital phones.

On the other hand the magnetic memory stores data on a magnetized medium. These are also referred to as hard disk, widely used to store data as well as audio and video signals (Smith, 2010).

Purpose of the study

This endeavor is descriptive and explanatory study about the difference between the flash and magnetic storage devices. The primary focus will be on the comparison of flash memory and magnetic memory and about their future developments.

Aims and objectives

The primary aim of the study is to evaluate the difference between flash memory and magnetic memory and their usage.

The study will also highlight on the working and structure of flash and magnetic memory.

Moreover, the study will also highlight the advantages and disadvantages of using both the flash memory and the magnetic memory.

Summary

The report basically highlights on the concept of flash memory and magnetic memory. It has laid down the advantages and disadvantages of using the flash and magnetic storage devices these days, with the advancement of technology, flash memory card are widely being used by individuals and large organization.
