High School in Philippines vs. High school in USA

Introduction

This paper will discuss the high schools of two countries, i.e. United States and Philippines. This will help in knowing more about the differences between the two high schools and also of the different approaches that the two schools have.

Discussion

The high schools of the United States are the ones that are more focused on academics and do not appreciate many events and parties in the schools. On the other hand, the schools in Philippines have a number of events; therefore, they do not focus much on academics. The standard of education in Philippines is not as good as the United States because of these significant differences. The educational system is different in both countries (www.huffingtonpost.com, n.d. ).

One country focuses on the social and the personal development of the children (Philippines) which is necessary, but it should be made sure that the children studying in Philippines are taught about the mandatory subjects and are more focused towards the syllabus and the academics rather than the events. The events in these schools cover a huge part of the academic session due to which they are unable to bring a positive change in the educational system, and the whole country is impacted by this.

In the United States, there is more focus on academics and the children are not being offered any events or parties at schools due to which they feel that education is a burden. They feel that school is boring and that the teachers of the country are the ones who do not make sure that children develop socially, as well as, mentally. This is the reason that the students in the United States are frustrated and say that the educational system of their country is not as appropriate as other countries.

In United States, the quality is good because the government is supporting the educational institutes and is helping people to make sure that they work in a manner that will help them to provide better services (Doris, pp. 121). The American schools are providing the same level and same quality of education as the expensive foreign schools are. They are the ones who make sure that the service that they are providing are according to the needs of the people and are also in accordance with the international quality of education.

The government of the Philippines should make sure that the educational system of the country is proper and helps the students in growing and developing mentally, as well as, physically. They should make sure that the students get the right quality of education with the events. The entire focus should not be on events, but on academics, as well. This will help them in making sure that the people of the country are well educated and can match the standards of overseas education, as well (Doris, pp. 122).

Conclusion

From the preceding discussion, it can be concluded that the Philippine schools focus more on events and are not as good as the American schools in terms of education and quality. They should work on this, and the American schools should make sure that they incorporate some events in their educational system so that the students can have a good time in learning and are not frustrated by studies. There is an element of improvement for the American, as well as, the Philippine schools.
