Freedom and Choice

Introduction

Each human has natural rights, from which laws are derived. It is considered that the freedom of speech, language, opinion, press and expression are part of these natural rights. As such, it is stated in laws across the world, such as the First Amendment of the United States of America, that people's right to freedom of expression is protected from government interference. Due to this fact, most people constantly underestimate the value of language. However, because of its great importance, individuals should appreciate it more as it is the way through which we can relate amongst each other as well as communicate our needs, wants and queries. The paper discusses an issue based on the freedom and choice of actions (Sen, 2009).

Discussion

One of the main attractions of the Internet is the anonymity and pure facelessness of the users and this is why it can be so dangerous. Online networking communities like My Space and Facebook, and even online kids-oriented communities are fighting with ways to avoid the sharing of any content that causes harm to a person or his reputation. As far as preventing adult content being published on the web, nothing can be done as yet (Barendt, 2005). One big problem is our technology is advancing faster than our laws, and because people all over the world. Overall, it is a freedom and a right, but some better laws need to be put in place to control the Internet and the unethical and illegal acts that occur in relation to the usage of internet. The company that is making the profit off of the website should have some responsibility to do this (Alexander, 2005).
