Global Climate Change As It Affects Sea Level Rise

Introduction

Global warming as it rapidly increases will change the life for not only humans and all living things; it will have a permanent effect on everything. Global warming has and will continue to threaten the living conditions for humans. For example the frozen glaciers in the north are starting to melt as the temperatures increase. This will result in land loss, and will end up taking over various towns and cities. Climate change is neither new neither unusual. Throughout history of soil, mean surface temperature, climate and greenhouse gas concentrations have changed, occasionally step-by-step other times rather sharply. During accomplished 10,000 years apple has been in an interglacial time amount with the adequately abiding weather, exoteric temperature, and greenhouse gas concentration1. The adversity that has arisen in contempo times is if scientists investigate accomplished 150 years, abnormally endure 50. Scientists accept apparent an added greenhouse gas engrossment, authoritative 20th years hottest in endure 10,000 years.

Warming is consistent with rising sea level. High contributors to rising sea levels include melting of ice caps and glaciers, thermal expansion and polar ice sheets. It is still unclear that if these trends will continue in the future with similar intensity. Snow cover and mountain glaciers have declined on each hemisphere. Precipitation has also increased considerably in many parts of America and Asia. The increase in global calamites is also due to climate change, according to researchers. The area which is affected by drought has increased since 1970. There is an increase in number of cyclones, floods and other calamities.

Discussion

Global warming can be simply defined as "human-induced climate change”. Global warming takes place because of increase of greenhouse gases in the environment. These gases are abundant due to the contribution of several factors. Global warming is expected to boost the average temperature of the surface of the Earth; change precipitation patterns and raise sea levels. There are many potential impacts of these changes. The Earth could see an increase in extreme weather and will have impacts on humans, animals, and ecosystems. Global warming is a problem that has the potential to affect everything and everyone on our planet. If it is continued, the Earth could witness enormous changes, most of them would be worse. These changes will not merely affect our generation, but also the upcoming generations. If we don't take necessary steps rapidly, we will have to deal with diverse problems, from the emergence of diseases to the total extinctions of species. Everybody contributes to the problem, so everybody should also contribute to the solution (Lutz, 2001).

The phrase global warming refers to a phenomenon in which the Earth's surface temperature increases from its long-term averages generally because of an atmospheric blanket of greenhouse gases (GHGs; primarily carbon dioxide, methane, and chlorofluorocarbons) that serve to trap reradiated solar energy from escaping into space. This blanket of greenhouse gases is responsible for providing Earth a generally temperate, stable, ...
