Global Warming And Its Effect On Human Life in San Francisco

Introduction

The temperature of our planet is perfect for life. Not too cold, like Venus, or too hot, like Mars. With these conditions, the life extends everywhere. The earth receives heat from the sun some gases in the atmosphere retain it prevent this heat from escaping back into space. Today, this delicate equilibrium is in danger due to contamination of the atmosphere, which causes the hot gases retained near the surface. Temperatures around the world have increased in the last century, and this has caused global Warming (Roger, 34) The phrase global warming refers to a phenomenon in which the Earth's surface temperature increases from its long-term averages because of an atmospheric blanket of greenhouse gases (GHGs; primarily carbon dioxide, methane, and chlorofluorocarbons) that serve to trap reradiated solar energy from escaping into space.

This blanket of greenhouse gases is responsible for providing Earth a temperate, stable, and life-sustaining climate. In common parlance, global warming regularly uses interchangeably with climate change. Global warming is an urgent matter that is effecting, and will continue to affect everyone, and everything on earth, this is one of the biggest threats that our world is facing today. In the present context, it used in a more restricted sense as a driver of global climate change. The argument that we are going to discuss in this essay is that Global warming is becoming a major threat to the entire world (Nigel, 56). This essay is focusing on the disastrous effects of global warming on the earth and its horrific effects on life on a human being in San Francisco as it is considered by scientists as one of the most difficult challenge our environment faces today.

Causes of Global Warming

Human activity is the main cause of global warming. Production and mass consumption of fossil fuels, the release of methane and deforestation favor increased greenhouse gas emissions, causing a rise in temperature. Deforestation is a process usually caused by human action, which destroys the surface forestal. Among the factors that lead to large-scale deforestation are: the neglect and ignorance of the intrinsic value, the lack of value placed on the irresponsible management of afforestation and weak environmental laws.

In many countries deforestation caused extinction, changes in climatic conditions, desertification and displacement of indigenous populations. Deforestation occurs in many ways. Most of the clearing is done for agricultural purposes-grazing cattle, planting crops. Global Warming is often the cause of natural disasters. Since the onset of the industrial revolution, human activities have altered the atmospheric composition of the Earth, significantly impacting the terrestrial energy balance. The burning of fossil fuels has significantly increased the amount of particulate matter and concentration of greenhouse gases (GHGs), most notably carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O), into the atmosphere (Rahmstorf , 1139 ). The overall impact of human, industrial activities on global climate has been a pronounced warming effect, as GHG increases have enhanced the atmospheric greenhouse effect and reduced the amount of outgoing ...
