Concept

Gardaland is a theme park which needs continuous events and marketing in order to maintain an upbeat market position. The event proposal is quite simple. The event comprises of 4 packed fun filled days. Every day, a new theme will be introduced. Total of 4 themes will there in the event. The proposed name of the event will be Grandaland. Grandaland means “Grand Event in Gardaland”. The venue of the event will be the Gardaland Amusement Park. The purpose of adding Grand to the name is mainly because of the nature of the event as it comprises of 4 full days, targeting the complete audience of Italy including the disabled people who were not given a chance in the mainstream to demonstrate the skills they possess (Martin, 2010). The most attractive art of the event is encouraging the participation of disabled people in the gaming activities being held along with the 4D movies.

Marketing Plan

The planning phase will start in September. Throughout September different possibilities will be evaluated and the best will be implemented. The target market will be the complete population of Italy. The reason for selecting the whole population as the target audience because, Gardaland is promoted as number 1 in Italy. Children will be focused more however, children will be accompanied by their parents. Major size of the population will be purchasing the passes of the event. The prices of the passes will be unified at all days of the event. Only disabled people will be provided with subsidized passes.

Marketing activities are threefold. Marketing activities will be divided in to three tiers. Tier one comprises of the media management activities. Press release will be printed, and media people will be invited to the press conference. Media people will write articles about the event in newspapers, magazines, articles and blogs. This will create hype amongst the masses. The second tier marketing will be distribution of leaflets. The leaflets will carry the event schedule prices of the tickets and the location of the kiosks (discussed in tier 3). The hype will increase due to activity on kiosks, because people will be looking forward for the type of activities which will be held in the event. Third tier activities will include small demonstration of the activities which will be held in the event. The location will be the municipalities and cities. Mostly activities will take place in Peschiera and Lazise. These two towns are closely situated from Gardaland. Venice will also be focused because it's the capital city of Italy.

Theme of the 4 days

Grand Fireworks

The event will start on the first of January by marking the start of New Year 2013. Fireworks will be arranged on that day along with a musical evening for kids and adults (Alton Towers, 2012). A huge collection of fireworks will be put to display. After completion of fireworks, a rave will start for unlimited time duration.
