Abstract

One of the many leading organizations, Hewlett Packard, commonly known as HP, is an information technology company which is a large-scale multinational corporation and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. This company was established by David Packard and Bill Hewlett in a small garage, and is now the largest IT Company in the entire world operating in almost all parts of the world. The company is a specialist in the manufacturing and development of the networking hardware, computing, data storage, computing, designing and delivering the software and other services. Some of the major categories of the products produced by the Hewlett Packard consist of software and variety of products, industry and enterprise standard servers, imaging products, and other related hardware and software. The products of the company are marketed to the large and small businesses, households, and to the enterprises directly through the online distribution, office-supply retailers, consumer-electronics and software partners and key technology vendors. Hewlett Packard also owns and provides strong consulting business services around its products and partner products. The purpose of this study is to identify the micro and macroeconomics part of the Hewlett Packard Company.

Statement of purpose

The purpose of this study is to identify the micro and macroeconomics part of the Hewlett Packard Company.

Research method

The proposed research method to be applied in this study will the secondary research involving the undertaking of study on a qualitative basis. Various online libraries, journals and databases have been researched and reviewed in order to gain an extensive insight and comprehension of the issue being studied. Some of the examples of databases to be used include Google Scholar, Academia Search Premier, EBSCOhost, and other relevant websites will be explored.

Important findings

Hewlett-Packard is divided into four groups - business units:

Enterprise Systems Group: key technology assets in the IT industry infrastructure, including enterprise storage, servers (UNIX-servers, failover servers, Windows IA-32 servers, Linux IA-32 servers), management software and variations of these decisions.

HP Services: comprises about 65 thousand professionals' worldwide IT service group to work with targeted infrastructure and partner network.

Imaging and Printing Group: unit of printing solutions and display information for consumer and business markets, printers, all-in-one devices, digital cameras and scanners, associated accessories. Following the recent acquisition of Indigo, IPG also entered the market of digital publishing. (Christensen, 386-405)

Personal Systems Group: unit of personal computing solutions - laptops and desktops for the everyday life and business, workstations, thin clients "(thin clients), PDAs and Internet-top boxes. In addition, PSG is engaged in software for embedded systems, solutions for home networking, and storage of personal use.
