Treitschke's Background and Influence on Thoughts

The place where Trietschke was born is Dresden. Trietschke was the son of an army. Trietschke's father used to work in Saxon army who by getting promotions reached to the stage of governor of Konigstein also tot eh stage of governor of Dresden. When Trietschke was so young he became deaf as a result he was unable to enter into the arena of public services. He studied at the University of Leipzig and Bonn. After the completing education he went to Leipzig where he used to give lectures related to history and politics. He was very popular among students. Because of the opinions that he used to have he could not be appointed as a professor by the Saxon government. It was the time when Trietschke was strong and liberal person. He used to regard liberalism. This can be regarded as the one event of his life that has caused immense influence on his thoughts.

He was of the opinion that entire Germany should be united as one and the existence of all the small states should be vanished. In one of his statements he asserts the point that colonial power has been established by very virile people. In order to fulfil the need of the attaining strength all the great nations have made an attempt to leave their mark on barbarian lands and those who did not get the chance to do that such nations will show their pitiable actions in coming times.
