The organization which will be focused in the paper further is “Unilever” a globally known fast manufacturing consumer goods (FMCG) company. Additionally various questions will be answered in detail in the paper, focusing on the business environment with regard to the selected organization. Every organization strives to reach the level of customer satisfaction through their products and services. They aim to have innovate things which would exceed the expectations of their customers in an excellent manner (www.unilever.com)

Identify the purposes of different types of organisation

Different organizations have diverse purposes depending on the nature of business they possess. For example if the company will be a restaurant or a café their purpose would be to satisfy the taste buds of their customers. Similarly each organization has its own purpose depending on the demand of its business. The organization which I choose to work on belongs to a FMCG which strives to fulfill the daily needs of their customers through a wide range of products and categories they offer. The biggest competitor of “Unilever” is “Procter and Gamble” (P&G) which shares the same purpose of fulfilling the everyday needs of the consumers (www.unilever.com) Such organizations primarily focus on improving the quality of life of their customers. Their products are designed according to the regular needs of a family or an individual. The purpose of FMCGs is to make everyday lives better through their superior quality brands. Their brands are categorized in a wide range of variety which include

Hair care

Household

Skin care

Food

Refreshment

Beauty care

All their products are designed considering the daily requirements of the customers. Their main purpose is to satisfy the routine lives of the people through their unmatched brands.

Describe the extent to which an organisation meets the objectives of different stakeholders

Organizations tend to meet the objectives of different stakeholders in order to satisfy each of them as each of them contributes towards the growth of the organization depending on their potential. Stakeholders are divided in two categories which refer to internal and external stakeholders.

Internal stakeholders: they are the people who are already committed to serve the organization being within the organization. Internal stake holders include (Chernatony & Harris, 2000, pp 268-274)

To an extreme extent the organization respond to the objectives of their stakeholders because they directly and indirectly are associated with profits and losses of the organization. Unilever works across 190 countries and gets engaged with all the stakeholders globally, hence it is a critical part of the organization but they succeed because they work with honesty, integrity and openness. They deal with their stakeholders fast and with thorough coordination so that they are not left unheard.
