Introduction

The aim and objective of this research paper is to discuss and analyze the hypothesis that homeless people who enjoy family support have more tendencies to mend their ways and engage in the planned change process and attainment of their life goals. The homeless people lack the minimum housing conditions that allow them to live with dignity, the warmth of a family, the support of a group of friends (Morse, 2006). This paper will address the issues of homeless people in the light of any support from their members of the family. There are many people who are homeless but are hidden because of loneliness; suffering and anguish can be disguised. But not their situation ceases to be a real drama. The importance of homelessness issue cannot be isolated because it risks the lives of human beings. It is not just a legal issue, but a social issue too. According to the concept of basic human rights, it is the utmost responsibility of governments and other law making authorities to provide facilities to people that can fulfill their needs and wants. It should also not be isolated that governments and housing associations generate taxes from local citizens of their country. It is important for them to utilize this money on providing basic facilities to all of the citizens of the country.

Homelessness is a social phenomenon that affects dozen to several hundred thousand individuals and families living in the region of United States. It is undoubtedly a serious social issue. Homelessness is therefore, one of the fundamental denials of human rights as the right to have a lasting and a place of existence. Deprivation of the house is the deprivation of human security and opportunity to satisfy essential needs, including their own development needs. Family can play a great role in the change process of the homeless people. The support of the family is considered crucial to infuse change process among the homeless people. Family can support a homeless person in many ways such as financial assistance, moral support and motivation for living a good life. By providing a financial support to the homeless, homeless can start a small business and start earning his or her own livelihood. Moral support can infuse hope and confidence among the homeless people which can encourage them to strive in order to make a prosperous career. Homeless people lack confidence and encouragement in order to pursue their goals. The attainment of the goals can take place if homeless people realize what they lack and find means to correct their past mistakes. Some of them think that it has been too late and now they have become too old to attain their lifetime goals. The whole thing is their thinking which has to be changed in order to make them attain their goals.
