Human nature

Introduction

“All men by nature seek for knowledge." - Aristotle

As the above statement suggests, it is in human nature to seek for knowledge. However, there are many ways of gaining knowledge including experiencing and observing. Aristotle believed that knowledge can generate the taste in our life that urges us to adopt a systematic and rationale approach to deal with all the matters and issues (Charles, 33 - 40).

The determination of saying that man is a living creature in the country is related to other, equally important to determine the nature of man. It says that man is a being having logos, a living being endowed with speech and reason. What, ask, this term is closer to human nature? Logos distinguishes man from animals, which, while having a voice that is a sign of pain and joy, and express it among themselves, but the ability to communicate is residual. In the case of human speech and mind are used to determine what is beneficial and harmful, and what is just and unjust." (Windelband, pp. 73) This is a fact - says Aristotle, is a property of man - which distinguishes it from other living creatures, that he only has the ability to discern between good and evil, justice and injustice and the like, a community of such beings is the foundation of the family and the state." Possession of the logos mean for humans can explore and express it in language. While the animals have only the ability to perceive and remember the experiences a person can accumulate, differentiate and use. In this way opens up before him the world, more a man has the world, not just the surroundings or environment (Strauss, 40 - 42 ).

Many experiences, learning, beliefs and most importantly philosophical awareness led me to develop my own personal conception of human nature. In my notion, human nature means a set of different qualities and traits that formulates current behavior of an individual and different desires and wishes suggests future behavior. This behavior or way of leading life and handling things depicts what this person is and his desires and wishes depicts what he wants to be. As different individuals have different qualities and traits they tend to portray different behavior and ultimately they have different nature (Bertman, 134 - 143).

Another perspective of my ideology of human nature is that whatever an individual is today must do some good for this world and whatever he wants to be in the future must show the continuum of concept of betterment of the world.
