Human Response to Physical Structure

Thesis Statement

The physical structure influences the human behavior. Thus, analyzing the response of human behavior on the changing environment and signifying the importance of architectural development as means of controlling the human behavior.

Introduction

Human response to the physical structure can be accounted as the behavior of an individual while giving as a response to the environment around. Behavior, itself can be accounted as this is not something that a person feels or believes, but the behavior is something that a person does (Jebara, 1998). The impact of the social environment and physical structure is a core concern these days. Through the way of direct observation of the relation between the behavior patterns and variables of architecture, professional designers are approaching for this issue. The direct linkage between the overt behavior and the objective environment in concern for the designers often reach the behavior of environment interface by intervening thoughts and theory. This construction helps in specifying the physical and social conditions. Thus, specifying it under the condition that certain physical environment features may correlate with specific human behavior. The practitioner of designs keeps the research of the environmental design that is being tied to measureable variables. While the behavioral scientist keep track on the researcher to predict the dimensions of environment, that may exert behavior influence over the specific situation. Though in order to illustrate the utility of behavior aspects and the combining designs, one may consider the human crowding issue. The analysis of architecture oriented crowding would have an emphasis on some physical variables. The physical variables may include the space arrangement, variables correlation, amount and patterns of behavior within the range of some settings (Stokols et. Al, 1978).

How Physical Structure Effects Human Behavior?

A person may not be aware, but if he happens to pass by a grocery store, then he might experience that every aspect of it is designed. That is designed in such a way that it can maximize the amount of money one may spend during the time of stay. Such type of designing may include the placement of breads, milk and eggs at the farthest end. This is because to attract a person to the various goodies that have been placed on the path. On lower shelves mostly candies and stuff being placed. So that, the children might get attracted towards it and happens to buy them. This is because humans are not habitual of the subconscious cues. In the same manner, social marketers could have effect on the behavior of people through their product and environment. This can be said that something to convince people without even talking to them. Hence the physical environment influences the behavior of an individual. Either the physical environment can have positive effects or the negative effects on the behavior of a person ...
