Abstract

The contributions of Nelson Mandela have a great impact on the progress and development of human. Nelson Mandela was the first black and democratically selected president of South Africa. The duration of his presidency is five years (1994 - 1999). In this period, Mandela worked for the human beings at different level in the country, as well as internationally. He was a great leader and possessed the potential to commence the negotiation on various critical issues. Mandela with his profound abilities and understanding of the problems to the population, developed and implemented for the rights of humans including children, elderly population, people allied to ethnic groups, farmers and the one living below the line of poverty.

One of the great leaders of the world is nelson Mandela. He had contributed a lot for the progress of civilization, as well as for the justice. He not only possessed the great qualities of leader but also he proved his abilities as a leader at different stage of his life.

Nelson Mandela was the first president of South Africa, elected democratically. He was one of the revolutionary and anti apartheid politician, who served for the nation South Africa from the year of 1994 to 1999. He was the elder, iconic statesman and victor of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. He worked before getting presidency, during as well as after the presidency. He was the active leader of African National Congress (ANC) for about fifty years. In this duration, he was put in prison for more than twenty seven years. After standing down from the seat of president, he still is kept in touch to contribute in the affairs within South Africa as well as in international relationships. During the course of five years presidency, he got the astonishing respect at abroad as well as at home for his practice and advocacy for the national resolution.
