Introduction

Imperial Oil is engaged in the exploration, production, transportation and sale of crude oil and natural gas and the manufacture, transportation and sale of petroleum products. Company is also a manufacturer and marketer of petrochemicals. Company's upstream operations include the exploration for, and production of, conventional crude oil, natural gas, synthetic oil and bitumen. Downstream operations consist of the transportation and refining of crude oil, blending of refined products and the distribution and marketing of those products. Chemicals consist of the manufacturing and marketing of various petrochemicals. At Dec 31 2010, company had 2.55 billion oil equivalent barrels of net proved reserves.
