This paper focuses on the book 'Where the wild things are' by Maurice Sendak. The book focuses on analysis of pictures drawn in the book with the acuity of illustrations using lines, gaze, shapes, distances and even different figures. The author has represented different monsters in the book not with the help of text or word but these monsters are portrayed through imaginary literacy aspect. In the book Wild Things are illustrated to be monsters that are running at large as pictured vividly in the book, but all the monsters are eventually tamed by Max. These monsters were a journey of Max's dream and his psyche. Max dressed as a wolf along with the casting of monsters were thought initially to be scary for children, but with time these monster made a special place in the children literacy world, and said to be one of the best books for children to enter into the visualization process. The monsters in the story throughout the novel added an extra flavor to it. Away from the place where Max lives he eventually starts to tame the monster which clearly depicted that the imaginative, fearless and friendly nature of children. the sophisticated polished art of the writer sketched throughout the story further depicted the energy and fantasy with the forest growing in Max's room and further he stares straight into the monster's yellow eyes and apparently becoming their ruler.
