The paper would conclude with the identification of some ways to engage and motivate the learners in an inclusive environment.

Inclusion and Differentiation

Inclusion refers to ascertaining that every learner, irrespective of their abilities, requirements, or disabilities, is provided with training or education. Differentiation, on the other hand, refers to the teaching strategy, which is employed by the trainers or teachers on a session for allowing any level of capability for participating in the same session. Differentiation strategy defines the way an activity may be differentiated for the order of accommodating every learner.

Aspects of an Inclusive Learning Environment

An inclusive learning environment entails the following aspects;

Keeping away from the categorizing and classification of students into specified groups being provided with fixed and predictable approaches to learning;

Realizing that that the learners have diverse individual learning requirements and that, they belong to different communities;

Acknowledging that the learners have valuable expertise and skills which may be employed by them to the learning experience;

Understanding that the learners can meet their objectives and realize their capabilities in various aspects; and that, this is specifically applicable to the learners having an added disability or learning need; and

Realizing, putting up, and meeting the learning requirements of every student.

Selection of Inclusive Learning and Teaching Strategies and Resources to Meet the Needs of Learners

It is quite imperative for the teachers and trainers to ascertain that their session is inclusive, and this may be done by choosing various inclusive teaching and learning strategies and resources. There are several such strategies and resources; and their selection depends on the students present in the class. Selecting inclusive learning and teaching strategies allows the whole class to be engaged and ascertain that they are conducting an inclusive session. It is essential that the teacher discusses their support requirements and needs with their students.
