African Countries In The World Trading System: International Trade, Domestic Institutions And The Role Of International

When one looks at the economic development that is needed to be carried out, it can be seen that there is strong linkage between the economic ties that exist between some of the countries and the way legal and regulatory situation is turning out in that country. It has to be said that there is strong linkage between the prosperity and the benefit that trade is about to bring and the strength of the legal system in which this trade is carried out. It has to be said that when one talks about the countries that belong to the Sub Saharan Africa, they are in some way trying to break the barrier and they are making an effort to make sure that they have strong economic structure that is able to support these countries. But it has to be said that the benefit of this trading has not reached the African economies. They are still lower on some of the development graphs and the region is still one of the poorest regions of the world. There are many apparent reasons for it, as a matter of fact, the apparent failure of the African countries to bring a turnaround in their economy despite the fact that they are part of many trade agreements that have taken place at the moment.

In this article, the author has talked about seven different African countries that were visited by him and what was the situation that was prevailing in those countries. It has to be said that with the passage of time, the emergence of the China as a major trading power and the way they go about their business is also one of the important factor when one talks about what is happening in those economies. The weak institutional and human sector of Africa is also one of the many reasons that they have not been able to transform the volume of trade into something significant. The financial structure that prevails in these countries is also on the weaker side. As far as the changes in the legal and institutional structure are concerned, it has to be said that these reforms will take lot of time to be implemented and it will a process that is going to be extremely slow.

As far as the barriers that are there, there are internal deficiencies of the institution that are needed to be looked at as well as the potential role that international law can play when it comes to getting rid of these barriers. This is something that is needed to be looked at rather carefully. At the other hand, another thing that has to be kept in mind that improving the structure of the industry and making such policies that are helping as far as the transparency.
