Introduction

Korea is the mono-national state with about 99.9% of Koreans. Emigration began in the mid-19th century, after the capture of Korea by Japan. Currently, about 5 million Koreans live in other countries of the world. They live in compact groups in China, Japan, USA, Russia and CIS countries. It is assumed that around 5-10 thousand years ago, the ancestors of the tribes moved to the Korean Peninsula from the likely focus of its formation in the northern parts of Central Asia.
