Introduction

Wars and battles have always been a part of the international politics, and the same have been occurring across the globe for one reason or the other. Although most of the battles are forgot for power and authority, there could be a number of other reasons as well, depending upon the circumstances and the position of the country. Same is the case with Kosovo War: the armed conflict started in February 1998 and lasted till June 1999, and was mainly fought between the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Kosovo Albanian rebel group known as the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and NATO . It should be taken into account that although a number of destructive and lethal actions occur during the war, use of power by the outside agencies and third parties is but only highly discouraged but the same is also considered as a clear violation of international laws and rules.

Statement of the Problem

Although the actions in Kosovo and the military intervention of NATO forces has been highly condemned and criticized in most of the international human rights circles, the same has been justified by Tony Blair, the British Prime Minister in his speech delivered in Chicago, using a number of different arguments and aspects . It is essential to note that the although the NATO initiatives have been causing serious and grave loss of live in Kosovo, Tony Blair has presented the idea that these losses can be justified on the basis of situations and conditions prevailing in the area. It is essential to note that NATO attacks in Kosovo were not only repetitive and intense, but at the same time, they were unnecessary and were inflicted upon the area against the international laws of peace and justice.

The Prime Minister has justified the consent, which includes the attacks near civilian areas and the destruction of communication methods of Kosovo on the basis of the fact that it was the need of time and was the only methods of relieving the civilians of the pain and suffering that they were going through. However, international human right activists and other such peace agencies have been arguing against the same idea and believe that no justification can be presented for inflicting damage to the life of citizens and jeopardizing their social as well as economic well being for a number of years, by destroying the basic structures and the infrastructure of the area .
