Contingency Theory of Leadership

The theory of contingency has been coined by Fiedler, which is one of the most widely used, earliest and investigated theories.  Fiedler has put an emphasis through his theory and approach of behavioral and models characterization that performance of the group is dependent on the psychological orientation of leader and three variables which are; task structure, atmosphere of the group and leader's position of energy.
