Introduction

Education is "a relatively permanent change in behavior” may perhaps arise under the situation of observatory facts and processes. Clarifications about what happens when these actions take place are acknowledged as learning theory. Learning is the process through which they acquire or modify abilities, skills, knowledge, behaviors and values as a result of the study, the experience, the instruction, reasoning and observation.

Flex net is an online course which has become popular in this globalized world, where it is embedded with the former brick and mortar model, and the virtual schools who are offering such courses.

This study is conducted to compare the various assessment methods that should be used for this type of course. The paper will analyze and identify the most effective model that will respond to the situation. For this paper the students will be evaluated to on the following activity level.

On an individual level

In a group activity

In a natural/clinical setting

In a classroom setting

Distance learning environment

Therefore, it is reasonable to assume it is also important for online students. To date, the online education literature hints of this importance.

Discussion of the Scenario

There is a set of five students who are enrolled in the Flex net course. There are five international students. The biography and linked information of each student is given below.

Maria Sanchez

Maria is fluent in both Spanish and English and has prior health care work experience. Thus she is more capable in learning and developing herself in more compatible manner.

Olga Bartold

Olga is 50 years old and new to the United States.  Having come from Germany, she has limited English proficiency and is fluent in German.  Olga does not have any experience working in a health care environment. However she does not has any related experience in the field of work, and additionally she is week in the language English. According to the evaluation she might have difficulty in covering up the thought as she is not fluent in the language and not even has any prior experience in the field, which she came for training.

Dr. Ranzin

Dr. Ranzin is from India and speaks fluent English and has several years of experience working in a health care environment. He is the most perfect candidate for the Flexnet course.

Joe Antone

Joe is a member of the Pima Indian Community.  This is also Joe's first experience working in a health care environment.

Martha Scott

Martha is from the Midwest and has several years of experience working in a health care environment. She is the most perfect candidate for the Flexnet course.

These five students are totally different from one another; however, the course should be made accordingly which could refer all the five students in a ways that is complement their weaknesses as well.

Students who enroll in online courses come from different backgrounds and age groups, but all online courses in a higher education context are for adults. Therefore, online classes often have from the beginning 18-year old college student to the 40-year old student in search of a mid-career ...
