Learning Theory

The social learning is the acquisition of "social skills" and is thus a basic prerequisite for the success of an " open society ". Social competence is a key qualification for the globalized world of the future, as more people take on this planet, right, justice, security and prosperity. "Social learning" allows addressing this goal and uses the mechanisms of group dynamics for the design of the individual and society(Althusser, 1976).

In psychology , the term was by Julian B. Rotter coined. Significant were the research Albert Bandura to model learning in the course of social-cognitive learning theory . Common to both theorists, that human behavior not only by external stimuli (How are the behavioral postulates paradigm), nor solely by cognitive predispositions (as the cognitive psychology are determined looks), but by the interaction of situation (external stimuli) and person . This attitude is commonly known as interactionism described (Leonardo, 2004, Pp. 16). The Social is meant by learning the process of acquiring social issues "of social and emotional skills." It involves the development of perception, contact, and communication skills, empathy and discretion as to cooperation, and conflict resolution skills, and civic courage . As the goal of social learning is the ability for social anticipation (Giroux, 1983).

The concept here is a modern form of education and the acquisition of social skills is what is exclusively or mainly in a social group can accomplish. This social learning takes significantly to the mechanisms of group dynamics and will return as a way to overcome hierarchical, linear behaviouristic learning understood, and is thus in the individual conscious of democratic development and, ultimately, help in shaping the society. This is mainly due to the expression of reason , ethics and moral courage - that the general levels specified value . Competence is broken today in physical, methods, personnel, and social skills. Specifically, the social learning to develop their own individual emotional and practical skills and self-awareness promoted, and the acceptance of others with their individual capabilities and limitations.

Social learning is not a method which will terminate at the end of adolescence, but a lifelong learning process that is designed to be flexible to respond to new conditions, but is social learning is an attitude that should be encouraged as early as possible. Social learning may not be able independently implemented by individual teachers and voluntary, but must be deliberately and systematically, step by step from the whole team (school, nursery, kindergarten, and family) and wanted implemented.

Huang, Heyes, and Charman (2006) reported that when 41-month-old children were shown a failed attempt to complete a response, they were more likely to copy the failed attempt than 31-month-olds. That is, in this case the younger children appeared to understand the intentions of the adult better than the older children. It may be, however, that the older children were more likely to see the goal as copying rather than successfully performing the action.
