Introduction

Human movement is a highly complex process, which is characterized by innumerable varieties and qualities and versatility of motor responses due to various possible combinations neuromuscular every moment. Dance to organize your code in their various languages, produces and continuously occupies the space transforming the state of the body in every movement it produces. It is necessary an accurate integration of body systems in order to ensure the acquisition and maintenance of such areas as specialized and specific (Abalo et al. 2013, p.32).

The dance is closely linked to social factors such as the Dance, regardless of their type in the body expression brings a form of language, is speaks through the motions. However, this expression is understood this body should be healthy, and injury free (Bastos et al. 2013, p.21).

It is he who will instruct the dancer as this condition your body in order to best artistic results. When you are on stage, in addition to thrill the audience, a dancer has to worry about the quality of the movements with your posture and the best way performing their dance without injuring themselves or hurt themselves. Therefore, we can say that the dance is a complete work, which involves body, mind and soul, the most demanding discipline of dancers and carrying viewers to a world of magic (Angoules et al. 2013).

In this article it is intended to investigate what are the types of injuries that occur in foot and ankle, where the most frequent injuries that dancers suffer whatever their mode of dance and define its causes and how they occur. Therefore, we intend to study also the ligaments of these joints, the movements that can execute and where they are located, specifying the injuries ligament that occur with greater incidence in dancers. This study aimed to review the literature on prevalence of ankle injury in dance practitioners (Alderman 2013, p.2).

Literature Review

The dance is a set of movements that develops in space and at a particular time, being set by a pace, and able to express both simple and strong emotions. She is a specific expression of the human motor behavior, in which the dancer tries to produce an emotional effect on their presentations (Abalo et al. 2013, p.32).

Through the ages, the dance was developing and becoming complex, being held individually or in groups, associated with rhythmic movements, prepared and organized in various styles: classical ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, ballroom dancing, flamenco, tap, street dance, belly dance, among others.

The dancers requires practice hours of grueling training that involves the joints in excessive positions, often non-physiological and may exceed the normal range of motion resulting in injuries. Usually training consists of warm-up exercises, stretching, flexibility, falls, jumps, balance, amplitudes exaggerated motion, dynamic forces, static and explosive turns, footprints, creativity, relaxation, work on sneaker tips, aerobic endurance, anaerobic(Angoules et al. 2013), among others to seek all perfect timing and technique resulting in a bodily performance quality ...
