Introduction

The purpose of this essay is to examine the curriculum development with respect to culture and the students; assessment. The essay compares and contrasts the curriculum development of two countries focusing on the policies and the design.

Adequacy of Curriculum

Schooling is a salvation issue for modern U.S.A. This theme of salvation, in turn, embodies the emancipatory project of the Enlightenment. The child is the future of cosmopolitan nation whose citizens are the result of reason and rationality of the law, freedom and progress. The emancipatory project of historical ironies and paradoxes school is modern in at least two different levels. First, education brings social management of progress and freedom and the right to individuality, two key sets of modernity (McCormick, 1983, 96). The modern state depended on the formation of citizen participation as the new nation depends for its existence was one. Education contributed to the construction of the new company, the new child. These theories on raising children of the late nineteenth century, the technology to transcribe the hopes of the Enlightenment in terms of human action, reason and rationality of science by the start of daily life.

Cultural pluralism

Assimilation emphasizes how the dominant society and cultural pluralism get intended to focus on opportunities for the minority of society. Cultural pluralism is advocated as an educational objective which turns to a pluralistic and multicultural society in which every ethnic, racial or religious group contributes to the larger society in their own unique cultural traditions. It is; therefore, an object of the school to recognize the culture of a minority and to help students work more effectively in this culture (Lawton, 1992, 10). Focus on ethnic studies and minority language programs get placed, but, as already mentioned, these are generally available through traditional school structure and have only a tangential effect on the objectives of development of minorities. The main benefits are the symbolic implications of the formal recognition of the ethnic group of the existence of the school and wider access to social resources and experiences by members of minority groups, which are used in order to be executed. This approach can have positive effects on the functioning of minority schools (Lawton, 1992, 14).

Cultural Eclecticism

Since the characteristics of prospects of both assimilation and pluralism that seem desirable in the development of educational programs in terms of cultural development, one has to develop an eclectic approach to the selection of the minority and the adaptation of these characteristics that are desirable for most licenses, and to overcome the constraints. The objective of this approach will be referred to as "cultural eclecticism." That does not mean that the school, an assortment of cultural practices from which students choose as present, but rather that students understand the nature different experiences that a natural part of his / her life is to help, and hence development of a cultural perspective integrated in the curriculum and capable of contributing to ...
