Abstract

The supply chain entails influential importance as it has the power to escalate the worth of entire process of production of an organization in the current global business scenario. Thus, there are various components of the supply chain in any global organization. The supply chain of Wal-Mart is the successful and effectual as well in enhancing the overall effectiveness and competency within the entire retailing industry. There are various problems that may arise in Wal-Mart's process of production such as introduction of new technology, changes in customer's preferences and tastes, and the raw material of lower qualities. The main focus of Wal-Mart is on quality-oriented products, price flexibility, velocity development for determining the inputs' supplies that assist in maintaining the strategy of lower cost of production (Wal-Mart, 2011). Wal-Mart put emphasis on demands of customers and the fortitude of customer's satisfaction to effectively determine its store places. Through the RFID technology, company can make identifications regarding the product availability with the help of printed bar codes on them. Wal-Mart uses store age rooms for offering its products to the buyers and through its own carriages or trucks for products' deliverance. Wal-Mart is using computer systems that are connected through internet for executing the information world-wide.

In the contemporary business world, the supply chain entails influential importance as it has the power to escalate the worth of entire process of production of an organization. Supply chain management is fundamentally the entire process initiating from the scratch of raw materials that are gathered from suppliers for the purpose of manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, distributing, and finally reaching of the particular product and service to its potential consumers or end-users. Thus, there are various components of the supply chain in any global organization. For this purpose, I have chosen the global organization that is Wal-Mart and, this assignment paper will discuss about the supply chain management of Wal-Mart, the six components of supply chain, the problems associated with the supply chain, and the approaches for solving those problems.

Discussion

Wal-Mart is amongst one of the global leaders in the retailing industry, and also the prime corporation of the globe (Wal-Mart, 2011). Additionally to other effective and competent maintaining and improving operations, the supply chain of Wal-Mart is the successful and effectual as well in enhancing the overall effectiveness and competency within the entire retailing industry.

The supply chain is basically a network of operations that is used in a business scenario for sustaining the accurate and appropriate informational flow in an organization. The six components of the supply chain of Wal-Mart are as follows:
